Season 3 will consist of 10 rounds with 3 races per round, with Round 1 scheduled to start on October 18th 2019.
Qualifying will begin at 22:30 UK time (1730 US East Coast) and will last for around 15 minutes (laps may vary depending on track length). There will then be a short period for the grid to be organised before Race 1 commences at 23:00. Race length will be circa 25 minutes, with track length determining how many laps are required. Please note, whilst invites will be sent around 10-15 minutes before qualifying, all lobbies and parties will be open to all and should not need an invite, so ensure you join the lobby if an invite is not received or message myself for an invite if there are issues joining.
Race 1 grid will be determined by the above qualifying session.
Race 2 grid will be determined by the finishing positions of Race 1.
Race 3 will be a random reversal of positions 6-12 from Race 2, eg. If position 8 is drawn, the top 8 will swap around whilst the remainder of the grid will start in the finishing positions of Race 2
Anyone missing qualifying will start from the back of the grid for the race they join in with. There will be no mandatory pit stops in these races.
The tracks will be decided by a weekly vote on the Facebook page, with polls closing at 22:00 each Thursday, if you are on Facebook then please join the page to cast your vote. AX2R Facebook Page
Please note the time changes in the UK from BST to GMT on October 27th, with the clocks going back 1 hour - meaning the following Friday meeting on November 1st will be an 1830 start time for those in the USA, with the times returning to 1730 the following week.
There will be 1 warm up lap to ensure everyone has loaded into the lobby correctly, with the pole sitter controlling the pace at around 80mph for the lap. All drivers must leave a gap to the competitor ahead, any accidents on the warm up lap will result in a 10 second penalty. Any damage occurred requiring a pit entry will result in a pit lane exit start once the pack has passed by, if a car is damaged by another car and it is no fault of their own then they may pit for repairs and retake their starting position. The pole sitter will then line up on the side of the grid which they loaded into, if a track has grid markings they will be used for grid positions, if the track does not have grid markings (as most US tracks do not) then there will be a 25 foot (7.62 metre) gap between each car.
Once the grid is in position the race will start at a given time by the race organiser. This time will be passed to both parties (if numbers permit) usually around 15 seconds after the grid is in position to ensure everyone hears what time we will go.
Safety cars will be used if there’s an accident involving 2 or more cars and they are unable to return to the pit lane at a safe pace. All cars will follow the leader at 60mph until the pack are grouped. The leader will then control the pace until an agreed corner at which point the leader will decide when to ‘GO’. Once the leader makes his first move he must not slow the pack down. It is the responsibility of each driver to be aware of this, once the leader goes, overtaking before the line is allowed. There will be no safety car in use after Lap 3 is completed by the leader.
The points system is 20-17-15-13-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 for the top 15 finishers and is scored for each race. Both a drivers and manufacturers championship will be in place. There will also be a dropped round for each entrant, allowing a driver to remove their worst race weekend - this can be any 3 races across the season or a complete weekend if a driver is unable to attend and will be implemented throughout the season. There will be a maximum of 5 entries per car type, which will all score towards Manufacturers Standings using the top 2 finishers of each car type from each race.
There will be 1 point awarded for Pole Position
There will be a success ballast system used, this will be implemented after Race 1 is completed and will be used for each qualifying session based on overall championship standings. Race 2 and 3 success ballast will be allocated according to the finishing positions in races 1 and 2 respectively
Group 4 - Placings 1-3 5% front AND rear grip loss
Group 3 - Placings 4-6 5% front grip loss
Group 2 - Placings 7-9 5% rear grip loss
Group 1 - Placings 10+ no restrictions
After Round 1 all new entrants will start in the Group 2 restriction group (5% rear grip loss) which is to help prevent new drivers coming in and dominating the races, unfairly skewing the championship.
The final 3 races of the series at Round 10 will be run without any restrictions at all, this includes qualifying too, so there's no need to sandbag at all throughout the season.
Chat parties - due to Forza's issues of not everybody hearing one another in the game lobby, we run a 2 party system. Both myself and SVR Twitch (formerly SpartanChief46) sit next to one another and will pass important messages to each party when required - such as race start time, yellow flags, blue flags, safety car or if required race stoppage. We do not want to be passing messages of apology from one to the other party. Ensure you have both myself, NothelleN340 and SVR Twitch on your friends list so you can join our parties/lobby . So if an accident occurs and the other person is not in the party, understand that they may be apologising but the message is not passed on, so do not get riled up and angry at that particular driver and look for retaliation. Simply fill in an SI form and get them penalised
Invites will be sent out between 15-30minutes before qualifying starts (around 2200 🇬🇧 1700 🇺🇸 Eastern). I will always have a meet-up session open at this time for drivers to get some practice laps, if you do not receive an invite in this time frame then please ensure you ‘Join Game’ on myself, the lobby will be open and accessible for anyone so there is no excuse to not be there.
If there is a need for split lobbies due to grid size exceeding 24, we will host two separate qualifying sessions. The grid will then be split into 2, odds and evens, and each driver will be invited to the correct party and lobby by the host. Half points will be awarded to each lobby for each of the first 2 races which will follow the same format as usual for Race 1 and 2. However, for Race 3 the top 12 from each lobby will be invited to partake in the final with full points on offer.
This is an unlikely situation but should it be a possibility then this will be the format used.
