Welcome to the AX2R DTM GT Series
The series will start Friday March 5th at 2230 🇬🇧 GMT 1730 🇺🇸 EST & run for 8 weeks
Each round will consist of 1x 15min qualifying session & 2x sprint races, each race up to 45min long
- Qualifying will be lap based, but each week will last around 15min with a 2min end timer. So if a track takes around 1min30 then it will be 10 laps, if it takes 2min then it will be 7 laps. The grid for race 1 will be decided based on the times gained in this session with clean laps ahead of dirty laps
- Race 1 will aim to be started by 2300 🇬🇧 it will be lap based but each race will last around 45min with a 5min end timer. So if it’s a 1min30 lap then it will be a 30 lap race
- Race 2 grid will be based off the finishing positions of race 1 & will run to the same format
Each race will be a standing start & will go once the timer counts down after loading in, no waiting for a time to be given unlike in touring cars
Unless otherwise stated in the pre-race briefing it will be run to Forza clean lines with 2 wheels always on track. Excessive cutting/extending will result in time penalties applied, if you feel you gained time by running off track then simply let off & give that time back to avoid a penalty
There will be 1 mandatory stop per race which can be taken only after the 25 minute marker, any pit stops before this time are not valid. The white pit entry & exit lines must be adhered to unless otherwise stated in the pre-race briefing
Restrictions will be used in this series for the top 3 in the standings. Qualifying will run without them, for race 1 they will be applied based on championship standings as follows:
1st place - 5% front & rear grip loss
2nd place - 5% front grip loss
3rd place - 5% power loss
Race 2 restrictions will then be based on the standings of race 1
Safety cars will be used for the first 3 laps only & only if 3 or more cars are involved. Restarts will only be used if there’s a problem with lobby settings
Points will be awarded as follows, with every finisher scoring. Qualifying will also see points rewarded with the top 3 scoring 3, 2 & 1 point
There will be a drivers, teams, independents & manufacturers championship in this series, so you can register as either a 2 car squad or go solo. The top 2 of each car type will score towards the manufacturers standings
There will be one dropped round for every driver, with the worst round for each driver being omitted once Round 2 is completed. We acknowledge people can’t make it every week and this should help redress that somewhat
Liveries must be approved before the season & have all the mandatory vinyls in place a warning will be given and if not rectified for the following week a penalty will be applied
Car builds must be correct otherwise qualifying times & results may be omitted
Registration for the series will open up Monday 15th February at 1700 🇬🇧 1200 🇺🇸 each car will be limited to 6 of each (unless a 5th manufacturer becomes available which will lead to 5 of each). We will only be running 1 lobby for this series with a full grid of 24 cars, preference in registration will be given to those who competed in & completed more than 80% of the rounds in either the BTCC or GTR Series we previously hosted. If you aren’t sure whether you can make the majority of the rounds then please refrain from registering as a full time driver and mark down you want to be on the reserve list. Any driver failing to attend the first 2 rounds will have their entry deleted & we will use a sign up system each week for drivers to say whether they will or won’t be there. If you don’t acknowledge this by 1900 🇬🇧 on race day then your position will be given to a reserve driver should there be any available
Any incidents can be submitted via our usual SI form and must be submitted before midnight on the Tuesday after the race
